KNOCK-OUTS - Demo 2005

The Knock-Outs were the first group of punks I met from Chico who were my age. We were all between 16 and 17 at the time in 2005. I first met them outside a show in Redding at the Space. They all drove up from Chico to see the Hanover Saints. I was hanging out at the show with my first band the Welfare Scouts. We began shooting the shit with them and started asking each other questions about what our cities scenes were like, Redding vs Chico. They explained how Chico was generally an older scene, and they were some of the only kids. That was odd to me to hear, because it was the complete opposite in Redding. Everyone in Redding was generally a teenager. They also mentioned they all played in a street punk band together named the Knock-Outs, and that was that. Our two bands were now homies. So a month or so later, The Welfare Scouts organized one of our first shows at Caldwell Park and asked The Knock-Outs to roll up. The show was sick, and they were fucking great. Young punks who could play tight, get aggro, and have fun. They later changed their named to Dead Regiment and made another release, but that's for a different post.
