The P.A.W.N.S. (power and wealth need slaves) were an incredible band that left a huge mark on the Chico punk scene that can still be seen today. They were originally from Santa Cruz but moved to Chico around 2000. Their sound was very melody driven in the style of UK greats like Chumbawamba and The Subhumans, but they also knew how to play fast in 80's USHC fashion. Their third release "...And They Thought Anarchy Was Bad" has always been my favorite in their discography. Not too long. Not too short. And each song features something a little different. Very beautifully put together.
